Pakistan is land of cultural and geographic diversity; same is the case with the natural flora of this land. The flora is rich in the medicinal plants, majority of the plants are utilized by the local people without scientific evidence. Need is to identify such plants, screen out the active constituents and search out the biological secret embedded in them. Such investigations can lead to the safe and effective molecules which could establish as major remedies. Euphorbia prostrata is one of the examples of such plants. It belongs to family Euphorbiaceae also called spurge family. This plant contains anthraquinone glycosides, flavanoids, phenols, phlobotannins, polysaccharides, saponins, tannins and terpenoids. This plant is used as antidote for sting poisoning and to avoid painful menstruation also to avoid the miscarriage. This herb is useful remedy for number of problems. In view of the importance of this plant is reviewed and is being presented in this article.
